End of a Great Show

This morning Brian called me at work to deliver some sad news. Today was the last ever episode of Reading Rainbow.

A butterfly in the sky...I can go twice as high...take a look...its in a book...Reading Rainbow...I can go anywhere...

In the Thomson house growing up, we actually used to videotape the shows so that we could watch them again later. My mom remembers our favorite being about cooperation, but I mainly remember the one where Lavar visits the cheese factory! Some of my favorite books when I was young came from this show - A Chair for My Mother, Caps for Sale, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs...I could go on and on.

I guess PBS couldn't gain sponsorship for the show since it focused on encouraging kids to pick up a book rather than the fundamentals of reading. Their logic seems flawed to me...if you get a kid to pick up a book, they'll likely learn to read.

26 Weeks

Here's the picture that Brian took of my belly on Sunday. Everyone keeps saying that I'm carrying this baby extremely high but it is still early! We made a lot of progress on the nursery this weekend. We'll take some pictures and post soon!
