We can't believe that it is almost time to start planning his first birthday party! Evan turned 9 months old this week. It doesn't feel right saying that! He's changing and growing so much even though he's still quite the little dude (not quite 17 lbs and not quite 27 inches long). I know I've said this before and I'll say it again, we're trying not to blink for fear we might miss it! He's a super sweet baby who love his routine and his solid foods. He's starting to not drink as much milk and he's really loving the finger foods. He's not quite ready to crawl, but that is fine by us. It will all happen so quickly we're sure! His favorite foods right now are mangos and plums. He loves to read "What do you say?" which is a book that has animal sounds in it. His favorite toy is a bus that has three frogs in it. He loves to take them out and will do it until you stop putting them back in. He also loves blocks and anything he can hold in his hand. He is such a joy. We have been blessed.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

Cookie Time
Evan had his first "cookie" this week. He thought it was great that Mom and Dad had one too. He was pretty proud of himself for eating the whole thing!
Playing!
Evan still loves his penguin!
One of his favorite times of day is when Daddy gets home!
Here he is being super silly one morning. Brian and I still aren't sure what was so funny...

First Big Bruise
Evan took his first header into the tile floor today at Ms. Irene's. I'm sure this is the first of many over the next 6 months as he learns to crawl and walk. He has a nice bruise on his forehead because of it. He only cried a bit, but doesn't he look pathetic in the first picture? He's had a rough couple of days. Fighting something. We were at the doctor on Thursday but there was nothing to be found. He was stuffy and not really his happy self this weekend. Tonight, he was in bed by 6:30 pm. Poor baby. We hope he gets back to his chipper self soon!
Rice Rusk
At the grocery store last week I was looking for new finger foods to try and found Rice Rusks. Sorta weird but Evan loves watching us eat chips or crackers so I figured we'd try them out. He was a little apprehensive at first but ended up eating the entire thing!

Seriously Cute
Striking a pose.
Getting ready for the Steelers.I love tags...don't I look smart in this picture like I'm reading them?
I love things that I can hold in my hands.
I love Neil Diamond!
Check out my technique. I've got the pointer thumb Cheerio (or Puffs) grab down.
Astros Game
On Sunday, Evan went to his first Astros game. We met Brian's cousin Chad and his girlfriend Sarah. Evan loved it! We might have been in the seats for a total of 4 pitches, but hey, what fun is it to say in your seat? Evan with Chad and Sarah
Clapping!
Evan's latest trick is clapping. And he does it all the time. I don't think he understands quite yet when you are supposed to clap, so whenever he starts, we start too. He's gotten a lot better with it just in the past week since he started doing it. We're loving it!
