Cute Picture and Playing with My Toys

Daddy told me that I look like Mommy in this picture.  I wonder if he was talking about my booger?

I woke up from my nap one day and this new tunnel was in my house.  I didn't want to touch it with a 10 foot pole the first day but the second day I worked up a sweat!

I love to use my tongue to help me work...check out the next 3 pitcures!

16 Months!

Somehow I missed the 15 month update...so here's a little bit of a longer one for 16 months!

Little Evan isn't so much a baby any more.  His 15th month brought many milestones.  Most of all, in our eyes, he really changed from a baby to a little boy.  I think that must come with the walking territory. Time is flying.  I cannot believe that I've been at work and that Ms. Irene has blessed our family for an entire year already!

Evan is such a joy (well except for maybe tonight...but I think he was just super tired!!  He went to bed at 6:15 pm!).  He is a professional walker and prefers to walk if he can get himself up.  He's not quite to the point where he can totally get himself up off of the ground yet, but he's figured out if he crawls to a wall or piece of furniture that is close by, it is easy.  He loves to laugh.  He has a great sense of humor...at least that is what Grandma Candi and Grandpa Max say.  He knows when things are funny and does things that he knows are funny.  The other day he was walking around the couch trying to hide from Brian and actually surprised Brian by coming from the opposite side to what Brian was expecting him to.  They both got a big kick out of that one.  He also still LOVES to read.  Right now his favorite books are the word books that have a bunch of pictures labeled with their name.  He'll point and make you say every word on the page.  He also LOVES LOVES LOVES to be outside.  We actually can't even say that word in our house anymore.  We have to spell it.  He loves to walk around outside (still a little uncertain in the grass...he needs a hand to hold) and loves to go on walks in his stroller.  He loves to go to the park to swing and slide and loves to go visit the animals at the zoo.  He is still quite the eater but I'll admit it is pretty frustrating right now.  He's to the point where he can pretty much feed himself an entire meal, but he won't feed himself the good stuff.  So we have to pump the veggie purees in him.  He doesn't like to depend on us to do that and meals typically end in tears.  Hopefully it will get better soon.  He loves Oreos and cheese.  Actually I think if you did a taste test, he'd prefer cheese to Oreos!

We're truly blessed!

He's got 6 teeth now.  And hopefully more on the way.  He really wants a steak!

Still loves to suck his fingers to relax.  Love the Easter egg as his comfort???  Funny dude.  His favorite comfort is actually the Velcro on his shoes!

"I'm talking to YOU!"

Evan and the Goats

Evan's favorite animals at the zoo right now are the goats.  He LOVES them and isn't afraid to touch them.  Soooo cute!

So What's Evan Been Up To?

Walking!

Checking out his new favorite book - Slide and Find ABC's.

Eating Oreos...only Double Stuff will do!

Asking Daddy for a chip.

Playing with his favorite toys...the remotes.

Looking snazzy in his 6 month clothes...obvioulsy Mommy forgot to provide Ms Irene with a spare set of clothes in the right size.

Looking cute as always.

Sucking fingers, drinking milk and relaxing in the morning.

Hanging out with Daddy.

Looking super cool in his shades.

Smiling...what a cutie!

Evan: The Professional Walker Video

Evan never ceases to amaze us.  He's a professional walker already.  Last weekend we went to Stride Rite to buy his first two pairs of "real" shoes.  He'd been wearing Pedipeds (super soft soled shoes) prior to now.  Like I said when he started crawling...when this kid starts something, he becomes a professional in a few days.  He might be a little later than most babies, but he excels.  We're so proud of him!

On a funny note, for those of you who know Evan and know other babies who are 15 months or younger realize that everything about this kid is tiny.  He's in the 5th percentile for weight and somewhere around the 10th for height.  However, he has WIDE feet!  He had to get Size 4 1/2 WIDE shoes.  Who would have thought?!?

Evan Walking Video

It is official.  We have a walker.  He's been walking between Brian and me for a few weeks now and holding on to just one hand when we are out and about, but for the first time this weekend, he was much more daring and willing to go almost the entire way across the living room if one of us was on the other side calling for him.  Yeah for Evan!  Yikes for Mommy and Daddy!  This kid is growing up way to fast!  Here he is showing off his mad skills this morning.

More Words

It is amazing how quickly Evan is learning new words.  At this rate, he'll be ready for the SAT verbal section in just a few months!  Especially if he has some help from his Grandma Candi who is an expert in SAT verbal preparation.

Here are some of his latest words:

Amen (soooo cute...he has a little puppy from our neighbor girls that says a prayer and he picked this one up from that)
Eyes (and trust me, he'll poke them out)
E-I-E-I-O (too funny...we tried to get on video tonight but Evan was more interested in the camcorder...hopefully soon I'll be able to post)

He has also picked up the following sounds in addition to his lion's roar:

Goat
Horse
Dog (still a work in progress)
Train (not really an animal but still makes noise...toot toot!)
