I was going on and on about the shots during my earlier post and forgot to post Evan's current stats. He's getting big!

2 Months!
It is hard for us to believe that our baby is 2 months old already! Mom is really sad to know that she only has 4 more weeks before she has to return to work.
Evan had his 2 month doctor's appointment on Friday morning. The poor baby got 5 shots and one oral vaccine. Geesh...seems like a lot! The nurse was excellent and did them in the quickest amount of time possible. He did really well...just screaming as all of the shots went in and about 30 seconds afterward. Then he was over it. As Dad said, he took it like a man! Mom on the other hand is still trying to get over it. The hardest part was changing his diaper a few hours after and seeing all of the band aids. At least he won't get rotavirus, hepatitis B, and many other things. Like Dr. Aunt Jo says, a few seconds of pain could potentially prevent a very long, dangerous sickness.

Happy Birthday Grandma Candi!
Today is Evan's Grandma Candi's 29th birthday. Isn't it kinda strange that Evan's mommy is a year older than his Grandma??? Love you Mom!

Ahhh...Sleep!
We are happy to report that for three nights now, Evan has made it through with only one feeding. We've started putting him to bed at 7 pm. We put on his PJ's and he takes a bottle from Daddy. Which by the way, the bottle is going well. Thank goodness because that will be his survival after March 1st! On Wednesday night he made it until 1:30 am, on Thursday night until 1 am, and last night until 2:30 am. This is quite a break through and we're praying that it lasts. 7 hours of straight sleep for Evan means Mom and Dad have a couple of hours together and then they get some good sleep. Typically he is waking up for the day between 6 and 7 am. Ahhh says Mom!
Also, I think we have the appearance of the morning nap. For about the past week and a half, after his mid morning feeding, he'll go down for 1.5-2.5 hours. The afternoon is still a struggle sometimes, but the sleep books say the morning nap appears first. We'll take the breakthroughs as they come.
Here are some more pictures of our little dude:

Evan's First Road Trip
Evan took his first long road trip this weekend. We went to Houston to see our dear friends Rick and Dianne get married. For those who don't know, Brian and I love to take weekend trips and vacations and so we're happy to report that Evan did great! He slept the entire 2.5 hr car ride there and slept great in his pack and play in the hotel room that night. We even went to the mall and out to eat yesterday afternoon before he slept the whole ride back to Victoria. Thank goodness for a portable baby! The one thing Mom and Dad forgot is that if Evan goes to sleep at 8 pm in the hotel room, Mom and Dad go to sleep then too (next time we'll remember to take our portable DVD player with head phones!). It was great for Mom though...she got nearly 10 hours of sleep (not in a row of course!). The other thing is that you definitely need more stuff when you are traveling with a baby!
Here he is after a good night sleep!

Looking out the window of the hotel room. He was entranced by this.

Stretching and Smiling
It is really cold here in Texas. It was below freezing for some time last night. The coldest weather in this part of the country in over 20 years. Here is a picture of Evan bundled up ready to go to Mommy's doctor's appointment yesterday. Dr Seiler and her nurse Debbie both think the Evan "looks like a boy".

Finally a good picture of his smile!

10 lbs and a cute story
No new pictures to post . I need to download them. But I figured I'd post that by our completely scientific measurements (not!) Evan is officially 10 lbs and 22 inches long. And he's 6 weeks old tomorrow. Crazy. My baby is getting big way too fast.
Now for the cute story. My sister-in-law emailed me this morning and made my day. As she was getting breakfast for my nephew Cole, Cole asked her if they were going to the airport today. Jenn said no, but asked him why he would want to go to the airport? And Cole said "To go to Texas to see Uncle Brian and Baby Evan because Baby Evan is sooo cute!". Cole will be 3 in February.
I'll put up some new pictures in a few days!

Happy New Year from the Hrachs!
Happy New Year from the Hrachs! On New Year's Eve, we went to a party at our dear friends Judie and Steve's. It was great to get out and Evan enjoyed his nap at the party with Caren! Our New Year's Day was filled with football and Evan.
In 2010 career news, Brian is rejoining the Victoria County DA's office as an Assistant District Attorney effective this coming Monday. He decided after a year in private practice that he loved being a prosecutor and he's excited that he has the opportunity to return to a job that he loves.
In Evan news, our little dude has started to smile. I've tried to capture it on camera but have been unsuccessful so far. Here is somewhat of an after smile.

Standing on the table already???
