Up to no good!

This is how Mommy and Daddy found me yesterday.  I was trying to open the boxes that had arrived because I just knew there were presents in them.  I gave it my best shot with my Play Doh scissors!

Abby is 10 months!

Abby turned 10 months on December 14th.  At her 9 month appointment (she was really almost 10 months), she weighed over 20 lbs and her head was in the 91st percentile.  She's totally different than Evan was as far as all of that goes!  This was the stage where Evan was in the single digits in percentiles.  She's a healthy, growing baby.  She LOVES life and is just such a happy camper.  She got her first two teeth in and has been enjoying being able to try some new foods.  She really likes cinnamon rolls and banana pieces that she can feed to herself.  She eats thre rather large meals a day and still drinks 5 bottles.  Oink oink Abby!  She is the fastest Army crawler I have ever seen.  Our pediatrician says she will likely never crawl normally because she can get where she needs to go quickly like that.  She is already pulling up.  Although she won't be walking by Chirstmas, I can almost guarnatee you she will by her first birthday.  Some of her favorite toys are trucks and diggers...no suprise there since she hangs out with Mr. Evan.  She loves her teachers at school and is espeically attached to Ms. Taylor.  She takes two really good naps at day at home...is hit and miss at school.  She sleeps 11-12 hours every night.  She has been taking big baths for the last couple of months and she LOVES them.  She gets very excited and starts kicking her legs and panting whenever we strip down and head to the bathroom.  It is really too funny.  What a perfect addition to our family she has been and what a blessing she is to all of us!

Beautiful Miss Abby

Evan at Three

Evan turned three years old the Monday after Thanksgiving.  We're not sure where the three years have gone.  Our baby boy is now a "big boy".  He's a true blessing to us and we're loving every second.
Here is Evan at three:
• Just over 30 lbs.  Not sure how tall because it has been a while since he was measured.  But the kid must be growing.  He's been eating non stop for about 3 months now.  The toddler pickyness has subsided some and he's giving more things a try.
• Favorite foods are cheese pizza, french fries and chicken nuggets.  He also has recently discovered he loves tacos. We credit one of his favorite books "Dragons Love Tacos".
• He loves to read.  Typically reads 6-7 books every night before bed.  He loves books with plots, especially books that rhyme.  Dr. Seuss is a recent discovery, thanks to Auntie Jo.  He also loves the "Bear" books and "Pete the Cat".
• He still loves to play with diggers.  He has an entire box filled with different diggers.  He can tell you what each one is as he gets it out and plays with it.
• His vocabulary is growing every day and he always speaks in complete sentences now.  It is amazing how much this has changed over the course of the last year.  It is also amazing at how him being able to communicate to us his needs and wants really cuts down on the number of temper tantrums.  Ahhhh-mazing.
• He likes school and his teachers there.  His favorite times of the day are when he gets to go outside.
• He loves to go on walks in our new neighborhood, especially if it involves a stop at the playground.  Evan calls it the "Green Park" because the slides are green.
• He recognized about 1/2 of the letters in the alphabet and is starting to understand the difference between "big" and "little" letters.  He can recognize "E" for Evan and the first letters of all of his classmates names.  Too funny.  He points them out everywhere and says "three E's for Evan" or "F for Francesca".
• He can sing the ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  He also sings along with various other Raffi, Wiggles and school songs.
• He understands the difference between "boys" and "girls".  We did a 10 minute quiz in the car ride home the other night and he got them ALL right.  I even tried to trip him up by asking him other babies in Abby's class and he got them right!
• He's starting to remember his dreams.  A few weeks ago, he woke up and said to me "Just one Abby?"   To which I replied, "There is just one Abby".  He asked all day long and still asks every now and then.   I can only figure that he had a dream where he had two Abby's.
• He loves his little sister and loves to make her giggle.  They will just both crack up in the backseat some days and Brian and I have no clue what is so funny.  The other day, I went to get them out of the car after school and they were holding hands.  Melted my heart!
• Potty training...well....ummmm....let's just say we're not that far and he's not interested at all.  Maybe someday before he gets married.  My current goal is to have him potty trained before Abby.  Could be a good goal at this rate.
• He's very curious about everything.  Always asking questions.  At first we thought the "why" questions were just to keep us talking, but now it seems he actually wants to understand things.
• •He still sucks his fingers, but typically just to fall asleep.  Definitely not an obvious habit anymore.
• He loves animals and loves to go to the Houston Zoo.  I took off a few Fridays ago and just the two of us went.  We had such a good time.  We watched the elephants for about a half hour.  He loved it!
• He likes going to church.  Our new/old church has a huge nursery, fabulous helpers and tons of really awesome toys to play with.
• He takes about a 1.5-2 hour nap every afternoon (sometimes longer on weekends to catch up!) and still is sleeping 11-12 hours at night.  His bedtime is slowly slipping from 7:30 to 8 pm.  We're enjoying the extra time with him at night.  We're extremely lucky to have such a great sleeper.  I attribute some of the reason he is such a happy kid to his awesome sleeping habits.
• He is wearing size 2T clothes for the most part.  He can typically fit in 24 month pants still.  He wears a size 8 1/2 wide shoes.
• He brings to much joy to our lives and we are SO blessed that God has trusted us with such a sweet little man

Evan's Third Birthday Party!

We had my third birthday party a few days early while Grandma Candi, Grandpa Max and Aunt Jo were here for Thanksgiving.  It was Lightning McQueen themed.  Everyone had a great time and I didn't cry like I did last year when everyone sang Happy Birthday to me.  Probably because we'd been practicing at dinner for a few weeks before.  Here are some pictures from my party:

Jump House!

For a month before my birthday, I was jumping on the couch all the time. So for my brithday, Abby, Mommy and Daddy got me a JUMP HOUSE!  Oh my goodness do I love it so much.  We've gotten it out almost every nice weekend since and I'll jump for a long time.
