One Month Already?

Evan's one month birthday was the day after Christmas (Saturday). By Brian's and my measurements, Evan has grown to 21 inches long (a total gain of 1.5 inches since birth) and weighs 9 lb 4 oz (a gain of 1 lb 3 oz since birth). He changes every day. Just recently he started focusing on his mobile in his crib and on his swing. He truly is a happy, healthy baby. Brian and I are so blessed.

Checking out Daddy before a bath. Baths are still pretty traumatic, especially the washing part! He really doesn't mind getting the water poured on him!

Staring at the mobile in his crib. Within the past week, we've converted him to be in his crib full time at night and for most of his naps. He's still waking up about every 3 hours to eat. However, on Christmas night, he slept for 5 hours!!!

One month old! Hard to believe.

Thomson Family Photos

We took some family photos yesterday. As you can tell, Brian and I really dressed up for the occassion.

Evan's First Christmas

Evan's first Christmas was filled with fun with his Grandpa Max, Grandma Candi and Auntie Jo.

Here he is playing with his new blocks from Santa with Grandpa Max.

Ahh, a comfy spot.

Figuring out Auntie Jo.

Evan Rolls Over Video

This is my first attempt to upload a video to the blog - Evan rolling from his tummy to his back. Again, we thought it was just a fluke the first time he did it, but he's been doing it almost every day since!

Evan's Weekend

Evan had a busy weekend. On Friday, he had his first photo shoot...we're excited to see the proofs in a week. The photographer was great and very patient. Evan did pretty well...we gave him the pacifier between pictures to keep him happy. Then on Friday night, we went to my work Christmas party for a little bit. On Saturday, we went on our first outdoor walk on the walking trail by our house and we also went to the mall to finish up our Christmas shopping. Finally, yesterday Evan made his debut at church as Baby Jesus and also went to his friend Eliza's baptism party. So...many outings this weekend to keep Mom sane!

Oh and another milestone to report. Last Tuesday night, during Tummy Time, Evan flipped from his belly to his back. Grandma Hrach can testify that it happened. We thought it might be a fluke. However, on Saturday night, he did it again...twice. In the book that we are reading "Your Baby's First Year Week by Week", this is a milestone at 15 weeks! And Evan's only 3! We have an advanced baby! :)

Here are some recent pictures:

Brian calls Evan "Little Houdini". We have no idea how he manages to kick off his Miracle Blanket from his feet! At least it keeps his arms under control!

Evan got his first football for Christmas from Max, his 2 year old friend from Pittsburgh!

Here we are as Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Pretty cute, eh?

We've had a couple of rough nights here recently. Here is a picture of Evan and me sleeping in this morning.

3 month clothes already?

Our little man has already out grown his newborn size clothes. I put him in one of his newborn sleepers the other day and he couldn't stretch his legs out all of the way. So we're on to 3 month size clothes! The fun part about his 3 month clothes is that he has a lot of fun Christmas outfits which is helping put Mommy in the Christmas spirit.

Here he is in an outfit from Grandma and Grandpap Hrach.

Hanging out with Mom.

Here he is in a Christmas outfit from Auntie Jenn.

Hanging out with Grandma and Grandpap Hrach. They are going to watch Evan tonight (probably watch him sleep!) while Mom and Dad go out to dinner! Horrah!

More Evan

Here are some more pictures of our sweetie pie. His rash is looking much better and he's looking forward to the arrival of his Grandma and Grandpap Hrach this afternoon...so much so he's fast asleep in his crib right now!

Chillaxin' after a 3:30 am feeding. Mommy and Daddy were cracking up at his pose and had to take a picture!

Playing with his gym. The lights on the musical part were definitely grabbing his attention!

Evan's Rash

Poor Evan has a rash all over his stomach, back and neck. We went to Dr, Arquisola this morning and he told us that this is a perfectly normal baby rash (he had some complicated name for it), it might get worse before it gets better and it is more painful for the parents than the baby. Anyway, treatment is to put hypoallergenic lotion on him at least twice a day, use Dreft and make sure people who touch him aren't wearing anything that might cause a reaction. This poor baby is doomed to have sensitive skin with Brian and I as parents!

Oh yeah, our chunkster weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz. Didn't take him long to get back to and pass his birth weight!

First Snow

You might not believe it, but it is snowing at my house today in Texas! Here is a picture. I don't think I'll remember this at all.

Evan's Busy Thursday

I had my first tummy time last night and I liked it! You'd be amazed at how strong my neck already is. My legs are powerful too.

Hanging out with my Grandma.

First long nap in my crib. I slept in there last night too for about 4 hours!

Evan's Visitors

Lots of people have come to see Evan.

His friend Eliza who is almost 3 months old...

His Grandma Thomson...

His Aunt Jo...

The Many Faces of Evan

Evan makes a lot of pretty funny faces. Daddy thinks most of them look just like faces that Mommy makes:) Here are a sampling of his faces. All of these pictures were taken within a 2 or 3 minute period, so his expressions are constantly changing.

First Doctor's Appointment

Evan had his first doctor's appointment on Monday morning. When we left the hospital on Friday, they left the clamp on his umbilical cord because it was not as dry as they would have liked. So we had to go have it checked out and get it removed.

Dr. Arquisola, Evan's pediatrician, is great. His weight was down to 7 lbs 14 oz as expected. His cord is fine and his circumcision is healing well. He is slightly jaundice so we were instructed to spend some sun time every morning and also wake him up for feedings every 3 hours (last night he was on a 2 hour schedule!) to clear that up. Evan also got his first shot. Mom didn't handle that one too well. It took her almost 2 hours to finally have a sigh of relief after we got home! Dad might have to be in charge for the 2 month shots since there are quite a few.

Sun time with Mommy...his changing table is right by a huge window that gets morning sun.

Why are you taking me out on the coldest day in Texas so far this winter???

Evan's First Days at Home

Sorry for the delay in posting more pictures. We've been having internet and computer problems at home.

We have been blessed with a content little boy. Really the only times he cries are when he is hungry or when he needs a diaper change. He is eating and sleeping like a champ so far...let's hope that continues.

Here are some pictures of what Little Evan's been up to since he got home...

First bath...a little traumatic...second one is tonight.

Mom's friend Kim came to visit...

Being cute...
